Because one of my hot button issues is mass surveillance. I have been speaking out about it for decades, and I am not alone I don’t want to see our descendants become slaves to the surveillance state, much like they are in China. But the scene unfolding nowadays brings my worst fears for humanity beyond my time on earth to life. And I have witnessed its evolution over decades, sometimes from the inside. We see Trump weaponizing ICE into his personal police force, rapidly expanding across the country.
This mass surveillance technology was put in place over a long period of time by both Democrats and Republicans. For example, every Democrat on Allentown city council voted for the flock automated license plate readers, which the police say is useful in tracking various crimes such as sex trafficking. But this tech can also be used to pinpoint anybody they want, including activists, women’s health centers, journalists, people of color, muslims ,and anyone else else the people up top desire to find complete with a historical record composed of every time your registered vehicle passed in front of a Flock camera. . Either through willingness, ignorance, corruption, willing to play along, or being whipped by the party, both parties have voted time and again for all this mass surveillance that Trump now commands. Maybe that is why I don’t have any endorsements? Because, for all those years, I fought for the user, and soon the registered voter. This is why I am a renegade democrat, and why I believe that the democratic party must evolve.
As for the pic, I was about to go to a campaign event on February 1st, and discovered this and a bullet hole in my windshield. I was assured by the Allentown PD that the event was captured on surveillance video, they know who did it, and it was not politically motivated, but it does leave me disturbed. And out $300 for a new windshield so far.
